Celebrating our
25th Anniversary in 2024!

Dear friends,

Happy Holidays.

I hope 2024 will be gentler on everyone and peace will reign around the globe.

The new year will mark Town Life’s 25th Anniversary. Thank you for supporting me and my magazine all these years. I love highlighting the best aspects of the community and hope to continue doing so well into the future.

I am especially grateful for the readers, churches, businesses, nonprofits, boosters and elected officials who make White Bear a wonderful place to live.

Make sure you support the local businesses when shopping this holiday season. Their success is your success.

Celebrate Winterfest from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, December 9, in downtown White Bear Lake. Enjoy live carolers, check out the ice sculptures, visit with Santa in Railroad Park, shop for unique gifts, and have a delicious meal at one of the city’s exceptional restaurants.

Enjoy a wonderful Christmas show with Guitar Virtuoso Billy McLaughlin and SimpleGifts at 1 p.m., Wednesday, December 20, in Marine-on-St. Croix City Hall, 121 Judd St., Marine-on-St. Croix. Visit simplegiftsmusic.com for tickets.

Tap your toes at the musicals “She Loves Me” December 1–20 and “Little House on the Prairie” January 26–February 10 at Lakeshore Players Theatre in the Hanifl Performing Arts Center, 4941 Long Ave., White Bear Lake. For tickets, visit lakeshoreplayers.org.

Join Singer Jennifer Grimm in the premiere musical “I Am Betty,” which is a light-hearted look at the fictional character Betty Crocker, November 25–December 23 at the History Theatre, 30 East 10th St., St. Paul. For tickets, visit historytheatre.com.

Bring your whole family to White Bear Center for the Arts’ Winter Open House, 1–3 p.m., Saturday, January 13, 4971 Long Ave., White Bear Lake. People of all ages can enjoy indoor and outdoor activities relating to making art, walking a labyrinth and seeing sled dogs in action. For information, visit whitebeararts.org.

This holiday season, please remember seniors, people with disabilities and others who could use a helping hand. There are many local nonprofits in need of donations and volunteers. A good place to start is by contacting the school district, churches or white bear food shelf (visit www.whitebearfoodshelf.org).

And, finally, please try to be as patient, kind and generous as you can be. If you’re shopping, and the lines are too long or you’re losing your temper, take a deep breath and remember: Christmas is the season of peace and we’re all brothers and sisters.

Cheers,

Catherine Carey, Publisher
